Pseudophryne semimarmorata

DESCRIPTION:
Body length to 35mm. Small, dark brown raised spots on a grey back. Underside: irregular brown mottles sometimes joining, on a white/grey background. No finger or toe webbing.

HABITAT:
Dry forest, found mostly out of water, breeds in temporary pools.

DISTRIBUTION:
Widely distributed throughout the Eastern half of the State including Flinders but not King island.

CALL:
"Creg-uk, creg-uk".

UNUSUAL CHARACTERISTICS:
Most people think that frogs are restricted to water, but this frog is quite at home in dry forest.
