co-educational school situated 15 minutes southeast of Hobart.

Getting Started During 1999 ‘Health’
was a priority in our school. We
initially focussed on the ‘big picture’ and adopted a whole-school focus to
becoming a Health Promoting School. During
2000 our committee has continued to meet to plan strategies to address the
issues that the whole school community identified as priorities. They are: §
To nurture a culture of
achievement throughout the school community. §
To establish and maintain a
exemplary physical environment. §
To ensure that resource
allocation is fair and equitable. Our committee has
implemented strategies to - Review and write
relevant policies, and - Plan and conduct
professional development Planning What steps did we follow? 1.
Health Committee has continued – 2000 saw focus on policy development;
Curriculum-teachings and learning; professional development for staff in areas
of SSE and particularly reducing bullying and harassment. 2.
Whole school professional development (K-10) and site-based (Grade K-5,
6-10) professional development was implemented.
